I remember going to my parents to tell them I was leaving school, and that I wanted to get a cosmetology license. I admit that I was surprised when they were supportive. I'm not sure why I was surprised, I just was. I figured that, being educators, they might not support the idea. But, they did, and I'm grateful.
Fast forward to just over a year ago... I heard about a program the church was offering through BYU-Idaho called the Pathway program. It's a program where they help members of the church who've been away from school for some amount of time, get back into college. It's been an adventure so far. The kids and Eric have had to make adjustments and learn to be flexible. I attend class every Thursday night for 1 hour, which isn't too bad, and I have about 20ish hours of homework to do each week. It's a load to manage, but I think I'm doing ok. After I finish this first year, everything will be online; no more going in to a group class. I'm 9 weeks into my first 12 week semester, and I'm happy to say that I'm pulling A's so far...so far. ;)
I have 8 years to complete my program, but I hope to graduate the same time Chandler graduates from high school in 2018. We'll see...
