Harry update

Yesterday morning we got the terrible news that baby Harry's entire brain was affected by the oxygen deprivation. They told us that the brain stem's remaining intact is what was keeping his breathing, etc. going. This was such a blow to poor Shannan & Monti. It was so hard to watch them suffer. We all wish SO badly, that there was something we could do to ease their burden. However, we know there is nothing except being there for them when they need us.

Yesterday, sweet Shanny got to bathe Harry. It was a beautiful tender moment.

She talked to him as she bathed him. When his heart rate went up, she stopped and said, "It's ok! Gracie didn't like her first bath either."

Poor Monti sat and watched. I know he feels lost.

Last night, Monti and the Grandpas gave Harry a name and a blessing, and then they turned of the ventilator. Today they will remove all the tubes, except for the feeding tube. Then, we'll just wait and see what his little body decides to do.

Keep the prayers coming!

I found your blog from Shannan's blog. my sister is friends with Monti and Shannan...they and little Harry have been in our constant prayers. my heart truley aches for them. we will continue to keep Monti and Shannan in our prayers that they will feel comforted. Im so glad to know that heavenly father has a plan for all of us and that even though things are hard...he knows what hes doing. If you will...let Shannan know how sorry we are for them and they will be in our thoughts and prayers as long as needed.
