Chandler's class did the most awesome reports. They spent 6 weeks on an animal from the Rainforest. Chandler was assigned the Keel-billed Toucan. They had to do a full report as well as LOTS of other projects in class during that 6 weeks. Then, we had to use our imaginations and make a 3D version of the toucan. After seeing my sis-in-laws blog, Pay Period Projects, I decided this was the route to go.
So Chandler and I set out to print, trace, color, cut, sew, glue, etc... until our toucan was finally complete. It was actually really easy, and he REALYY enjoyed the fact that he could do almost the entire project, minus the sewing, himself. I liked that too, 'cuz I've got enough projects to do on my own. ;)
Here it is...
He was SO proud of his little Keel-billed toucan.
After all the projects were completed, they decorated the entire classroom like a rainforest, with everyone's 3D animals, and invited all the parents to come to a "Rainforest Cafe".
They even performed a little rainforest song for us, complete with actions.
We got a kick out of one of the leopards. It looked just like Harley.
It was really fun for them to show off all the hard work they had done.
Well Done, Chandler!
