A few weeks back my dad had surgery in his mouth. During the surgery, the Dr. discovered that he also had a roaring sinus infection which was causing some major problems. They treated the infection aggressively, and dad thought he was on the road to recovery. Then, it came back! He’s in some pretty major pain, and there’s no way he can leave for their 18 month mission to the Congo in this condition.
That brings us to tonight… The extended Jameson family met at our house for our final Family Home Evening before my parents leave. We did the usual FHE stuff, and then at the end my dad asked Eric & Klint, my sister Corinne’s husband, to give him a blessing. As I listened to Eric give my dad a beautiful blessing, I thought about the many times that my dad gave me blessings when I was in his care. Now, here was my husband standing worthy to return the favor for me. We have now come full circle.
I am so grateful for the power of the priesthood. And, I am grateful for the opportunity my dad gave to Eric to be an example to our family, specifically Chandler, of someone who worthily holds the priesthood.

It was a very special moment! To watch those fine young men with tenderness give a blessing to your Dad was such a great experience for me. We are so grateful for the good men in our family and the blessing it is to have them leading with the priesthood and blessing our family. That is all a parent could ask for. Thank you! We are very blessed!
I'm bummed that we missed it! Scott and I completely spaced on the whole Monday FHE despite the many emails :(
