Melting

On Sunday, I was making cookies when Shelby came in and asked if she could help. She really enjoys helping in the kitchen. So, we spent the next few minutes chatting and baking together. (It was a rare mother/daughter moment for us. She’s so independent, sometimes I think she doesn’t even notice that I’m around.)

As we were finishing up, she threw her arms around me and said, “When I grow up, I want to be a mom just like YOU!” I melted! No pressure! I gave her a big hug, and told I think she’ll be a GREAT mom someday. She loves babies, and can hardly wait until she’s old enough to babysit. I can’t wait either. :0)
