Baptism interview…

Harley is getting baptized this Saturday. Here’s the invite that we sent out…

hello

She is so excited to be baptized, but has had many tears about it, too. It seems (to her) that NOBODY can attend her baptism. (It’s simply not true. But, to an 8 year old, it doesn’t take much to make her emotional. Funny girl.)

Her Grammy and Papa are on a mission… She invited 2 of her favorite school teachers and they will be out of town, and throwing a baby shower… Some of the Jameson cousins/aunt/uncle live in UT… Stewart cousins/aunts/uncles live in WA, and TX… and Pearce family won’t be there either. So, to her, NOBODY is coming! (I guess the rest of us are chopped liver.) ;)

Anyway… Last Sunday she had her baptism interview with the Bishop. She was really nervous, and kept asking me if I thought she was going to “pass”. So cute! Our Bishop did a wonderful job of explaining to her how her baptism will be just like Jesus’ baptism. That was exciting to her. He talked with her about how her baptism is the 1st step toward the temple, and she loved it! She loves the temple! And has already decided that she WILL be married there… no matter what!!! During sacrament meeting she had drawn a picture for the Bishop which described how she feels about her baptism. She shared it with the him, and told him about her excitement. Here is the sweet picture…

She did such a great job with answering the questions, and proved to me and the Bishop that she is really ready to be baptized. So proud of her! The baptism is this Saturday. We will really miss those who can’t share her special day with her. However, we know they will be thinking of her, and we are grateful for their support.

You can bet that we'll be thinking of her. It's hard for us not to be there. I'm sure that it will be a great day and she'll see just how loved she is. We'll call her after the baptism. We're excited for her and for her parents. Good job!
